New Regulations
In 2008 the 17th edition
Electrical Regulations came into force
Heights of switches, plugs etc
All light switches, socket-outlets and controls must be installed throughout a dwelling in accessible positions at a height of between 450mm and 1200mm from finished floor level.
Consumer units must be mounted at a height that is accessible, and in areas that are subject to flooding, are installed above flood water level.
bulletAll new or refurbished dwellings must be fitted with a fire detection system (smoke alarms) at least one per storey, within 7.5 meters of a habitable room.
